THE DARKNESS

23 February 2004
Alcatraz, Milano (Italy)

Are they the living embodiement of Spinal Tap for the new millenium? I've always believed so, even more so when I saw the "Christman Song" video... LOL. But anyway, they put up a good-enough show to keep me entertained, and they invited The Wildhearts on tour with them (well, just over a year ago, the Wildhearts were the headliners for Uk shows, and the Darkness were their supporting back!). All this is good. So here's some good pics for you.

Ok, here's a stolen pic. Can you see the gear that Justin would be wearing during the evening? Eheheh.
The concert began with a backlights-show. People cheered as Justin was making funny moved behind the curtains.
And here's the real show! Lights! Guitars! Screaming voices! Rock and roll!
You gotta love the pink-and-white striped trousers... with the devil's tail on them!
Dan Hawkins, brother of Justin and notorious Thin Lizzy fan.
And here's mister Justin Hawkins in person!
I'm right at his feet.
Frankie Poullain pointed at my camera, as if to say "follow me"... so I did.
He put on quite a show. And he's soooo seventies!
Or maybe he's soooo "Village People"?
What did I tell you about him "being so seventies"? Look at his stage antics and dances!
This is probably the best shot I took in the evening.
This ain't bad either. LOL.
Justin did a lot of talking to the crowd. And a lot of tongue-in-cheek swearing too, he was SO vulgur, actually! LOL.
That tattoo with his name on his shoulder is so OTT. But after all, everything about this band is so OTT...
Sadly, they didn't play the Xmas song. But all the rest was done... including of course "I believe in a thing called love", and a sing-a-long thing done on "We will rock you" by Queen.
Ed Graham and his drumkit.
A closeup on Frankie.
Worship the cult of the crotch! LOL.
Aw, I just couldn't resist it. I had to show this to you, too... ehehe ;-)
