DANKO JONES

Danko Jones is The King! He put on an amazing show, leaving it all to the raw energy of his music and his vocals (mainly dealing with sex, or music, or sex while listening to music...), and left everyone so pleased. The opening band was Electric Eel Shock from Japan, they were a lot of fun to watch, and I regret not taking pics of them. Hope to catch them live again the future! (I know they toured with Sepultura too...)

They really put raw energy in their shows.

A good shot of John Calabrese. He clearly has Italian roots, and actually Danko told me that in the early stages of the band, it could be considered an "italian band", since the drummer was Italian too. So, two out of three made it an Italian band, not a Canadian one. Funny!

Obviously John is as passionate as Danko, when playing.

A thing I've noticed is that they are casually dressed, yet it's a kind of band-uniform: they were all wearing exactly the same stuff they played the previous time they played in Italy, with the Backyard Babies. A casual uniform, eh? Good idea!

Passion in his eyes. Actually Danko Jones finished off the concert revealing his mantra: every day, he repeats himself these words: "This heart is strong, this skin is thick, this mouth is louder!". He says it works to raise your self-esteem. Try it at home, kids!

Shame I didn't manage to get any shot of the world-famous Danko-Tongue!
